![]() To use a second (or, I assume, more than one) language you click the 'Add' button and a menu will pop-up of all the available languages. This 'keyboard' definition is really the language that is input when you type and is displayed when you type. As that is selected, the OS assumes you'll be using the language of that country and automatically adds the Installed Services info to define the 'keyboard' for your area. The OS needs to know where you are located. If not, select it from the drop-down menu. On the General tab, your location should be displayed. In that window select the tab for “Keyboards and Languages” and then click the “Change Keyboards” button. In Windows 7 Pro 64 bit there is an option on the Control Panel for “Region and Language”. I've tried everything I can think of in the OS and in OpenOffice to deal with this problem. Yet, I can generate a file today using this same Cardo font and it will only generate English characters. I can open this file today and the Greek text displays as expected. I downloaded and installed it in July and generated a Greek OpenOffice file and saved it. One of the oddest situations appears with the Cardo font. Yet, I've downloaded and installed the same fonts multiple times and the problem is still present. It looks for all the world that they are downloaded badly, or that the Windows 7 Pro 64 bit OS is problematic. This is true for OpenOffice, but it is also true for Notepad, Firefox, and when previewing the fonts within Control Panel → Fonts. Some of the fonts do display Greek characters. When I preview them or when I use them to generate text in OpenOffice 3.4.0, most of the time I get English characters! These are obviously Greek fonts, but they display English characters.
